IAGE TAMILNADU CHAPTER

Kurian Joseph

Dr. Kurian Joseph

The Indian Association of Gyn Endoscopy was started by Dr Nargis Motashaw and Dr Siddarth Khandvala to establish the concept of minimally invasive gyn in India. As the organization enlarged the need for more centers and more surgeons meant several branches had to be formed. One of the earliest is the TN Chapter of IAGE. The new body has already to its credit as members most of the gyn endoscopists of the state. This organization has already hosted several national and international meetings. Most importantly it serves as a portal to discuss problems faced by the members and introduce new concepts to them. I encourage you all to join the chapter and serve as active members to represent our progress in the field. Strengthen the office bearers in their pursuit of better achievements.

Thanks

Dear Colleagues,
Greetings from the IAGE Tamil Nadu Chapter!
It is my great honour and privilege to serve as the Founder Secretary of the IAGE Tamil Nadu Chapter.
The inception of our chapter dates back to October 2019, when Dr. Rishma Dhillon Pai, then President of IAGE, encouraged me to initiate a state chapter with the aim of promoting endoscopy across Tamil Nadu. With this vision, I reached out to all IAGE members residing in Tamil Nadu via emails and messages, inviting them to a meeting to discuss the formation of the chapter.
The inaugural meeting was held at Firm Banquet Hall, where Dr. Kurian Joseph addressed the gathering on the importance of forming the chapter. During the meeting, I had the privilege of reading out the proposed constitution of the chapter.
Following this, the IAGE Tamil Nadu Chapter officially came into existence. I ensured that we completed all necessary formalities—registration under the Societies Act, procurement of a PAN card, GST certificate, and TNMC credit point approvals—making ours a fully compliant and accomplished chapter.
At the time of inception, we had just 127 IAGE members in Tamil Nadu. Today, we are proud to have grown to over 350 members. We have consistently conducted CMEs, workshops, and conferences, actively working to spread the knowledge of endoscopy throughout the state, staying true to the chapter's mission.
It brings me immense joy to witness the continued growth and recognition of our chapter. We were even honoured with the Best Chapter Award from IAGE—a testament to our collective efforts and commitment.

Warm regards,

Dr. Mala Raj
